Itinerary

 

Day-1: Welcome to Zurich.

Afternoon - Discover Zürich, business and cultural centre of Switzerland and consecutively awarded "city with the world's best quality of life" on this two-hour classic city tour. Sit back and relax on a comfortable, air-conditioned coach as your guide points out the highlights of this unique city!

Pass by the castle-like National Museum, the well-known shopping avenue Bahnhofstrasse and Zürich's famous financial district. Picture stop at the port of "Enge" where you enjoy beautiful vistas of the crystal-clear Lake Zürich. Continue along the lake, passing by the renowned Opera House to the "Zürichberg" district with many superb mansions of glorious past times. A great experience is the ride uphill by cogwheel train (Dolderbahn) to a viewpoint where the noble five-star Grand Hotel Dolder is located. Enjoy breath-taking views of the city, the lake and the snow-covered Alps. Cruising the university quarter, you see the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), the University of Zürich and Zürich's art museum before reaching the charming Old Town. The last picture stop of this versatile excursion offers views of the patriarchal guild houses, the St. Peter church with Europe's largest clock-face, the Grossmünster church and the Fraumünster church with the famous stained glass windows by Marc Chagall. After a short walk through the Old Town, the tour ends here or with a scenic drive back on Limmatquai at Sihlquai bus parking.

Day-2: 

Enjoy an unforgettable Alpine tour to the majestic world of the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe at 3'454 m /11'333 ft. A scenic coach tour takes us to the magnificent mountain world of the Bernese Oberland. After a short interlude in Interlaken you reach Lauterbrunnen where we board the cogwheel train for the most interesting mountain train trip via Kleine Scheidegg at the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall to Jungfraujoch - Europe's highest railway station. Enjoy the incredible world of eternal snow and ice. Visit the „Alpine Sensation“ a round-tour subway officially opened to mark the centenary of Jungfrau Railway, the Ice Palace, experience the breathtaking panorama view from the Sphinx Observation Terrace, overlooking the Aletsch Glacier (Europe’s longest glacier) and the snow-capped peaks of the neighbouring countries. The down hill mountain trip takes us to Grindelwald where our coach awaits us. Arrival in Zurich at approx. 8 pm.

You will never forget this trip up to the amazing world of Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe – UNESCO named World Heritage Park of the Swiss Alps.

Day-3: 

Explore an adventure excursion to the highest vantage point in Central Switzerland. In Engelberg we board the aerial cableway for a 40 minute trip from the green valley bottom to the high alpine glacier region. Enjoy a ride in the revolving „ROTAIR” gondola that takes you up to the summit at 3020 m (10’000 ft.)overlooking the Swiss Alps. Snow and ice are guaranteed the whole year around. During 2 hour stay on the mountain visit the Ice Grotto and if the weather allows ride the „Ice Flyer” the modern chairlift offering spectacular views into glacier crevasses and ice falls, walk over Europe’s highest suspension bridge „Titlis Cliff Walk” and sledge on snow, even in summer, on the „Fun Lift”. Return by coach via Lucerne (1 hour at leisure) to Zurich.

Day-4:

Excursion to Northern Switzerland and the Black Forest, one of the most attractive landscapes of Southern Germany. Along Lake Schluchsee you reach Titisee, the very heart of the Black Forest. You will get a short introduction in how they bring those popular cuckoo clocks to sing, then you will enjoy time at leisure. Perhaps you wish to do a boat ride or enjoy the local food; the most known speciality is the Black Forest Cake, made with cherry brandy (almost NO calories....) Driving through very impressive spruce forests passing by Lenzkirch you return to Switzerland. There you will stop to admire the Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest and most spectacular waterfalls. Enjoy!

Day-5:

Morning train transfer to Vienna via Munich. Today you will be riding on the train for the best scenic route. Overnight in Vienna.

 

Day-6: 

Today we take you to the beautiful 'Salzkammergut', lake district and to Salzburg, the capital of music festivals. On the highway, towards the West of Austria, we reach Gmunden and pass by the impressive mountain region of the Lake District with its small picturesque towns. After arrival in Salzburg, there is some free time to enjoy lunch (not included). In the early afternoon, there will be a guided walking tour of Salzburg where you will see the Fortress Hohensalzburg, the Dome, the Festival Halls, the Mozarteum, the well known little street 'Getreidegasse' with Mozart's birthplace and the Mirabell garden.

Overnight in Vienna.

 

Day-7: 

After driving through the Bohemian countryside we will reach Prague, the 'Golden City'. After arrival, there is a short break and possibility for lunch (not included). In the early afternoon, there is a city tour of Prague, which will include Prague's main sights. After this, there will be a walking tour of the Old Town passing by Venceslav Square, Tyn Cathedral, the Old Town Hall with it's famous Astronomical Clock and Charles Bridge. Fianlly, drive to the castle area and visit the 'Hradschin', passing by Saint Vitus Cathedral and the well known Golden Lane.

Transportation by coach and a guided tour in Prague.

Overnight In Vienna.

 

Day-8:

Today morning to afternoon see Vienna in a completely new and relaxing way on this Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour. Set your own pace, get on and off at any of the 15 stops, as often as you wish. Choose from four different routes, shop, see sights, have fun and create your own tour. On the Ring route (red route) you see a selection of the most important sights of Vienna, such as the State Opera, the Hofburg, the City Hall and St. Stephen's Cathedral. The Donau route (blue route) will take you to the Danube and the Prater amusement park with the Giant Ferris Wheel. On the Schoenbrunn route (yellow route) you get the chance to visit Schoenbrunn palace, one of Vienna's major attractions.
