Itinerary

Day-1:

Arrival in Lucerne by train from Zurich Airport. Welcome to the world of nature. Lucerne, the gateway to central Switzerland, sited on Lake Lucerne, is embedded within an impressive mountainous panorama. Thanks to its attractions, its souvenir and watch shops, the beautiful lakeside setting and the nearby excursion mountains of the Rigi, Pilatus and Stanserhorn, the town is a destination for many travel groups and individuals on their journey through central Switzerland.

Day-2:

Excursion to Mount Titlis – at 3020 m / 10’000 ft. From Lucerne the train takes you to the mountain monestry village Engelberg where you board a gondola which takes you up to the Trübsee. You continue your trip by another gondola to Stand and finally the first revolving Titlis Rotair cablecar takes you up to Mount Titlis. For a spectacular, close-up insight into a glacier, visit the glacier cave and ride the Ice Flyer chairlift. And get your thrills on the TITLIS Cliff Walk, a spectacular Suspension bridge at a height of 3041 m/10'000 ft.

Day-3:

Board the historic Wilhelm Tell paddle steamer for the cruise to Flüelen (usually operated by paddle steamer, sometimes by motor boat). Multilingual commentary on board the boat and you receive a meal voucher worth CHF 19 redeemable on board the boat. From Flüelen you continue your journey through the famous Gotthard tunnel to Bellinzona in panorama coach or 1st class couch. Change train and continue your journey to Lugano.

Day-4:

Time at leisure in Lugano. Enjoy the medi- terranean atmosphere in the southern part of Switzerland. Stroll along the lakeside promenade or go up to Monte Bre or San Salvatore.

Day-5:

Departure by the famous Bernina Express (coach) to Tirano (Italy). From there by train over the Mount Bernina to St. Moritz. This exciting trip takes you through three cultures from palm trees across the regions of eternal snow to the valley of the young Rhine. Overnight in St. Moritz.

Day-6: Day off for excursions. Overnight in St. Moritz.

Corviglia – where latest trends are celebrated, World Cup races carried out and gourmet dreams come true - on the home mountain of St. Moritz with its 3057-meter-high Piz Naire summit.
Segantini-Museum – dedicated to the painter Giovanni Segantini who spent the final five years of his life in the Engadine.
Bernina Express – by panorama train on the most scenic railway in Europe to the Puschlav.
Muottas Muragl – impressive view over the lake region of the Upper Engadine. In winter by toboggan from the summit to the valley station.
Taxi through an ice channel – on a thrilling taxi-bob-ride on the only natural ice bob run in the world.
Piz Nair Wall – he start of the men's downhill (2003 World Championship) with a 100 per cent drop results in an acceleration from 0 to 130km/h in 7 seconds. Top skiing skills are a must.

Day-7:

Today you board the Glacier Express which is one of the greatest train journeys in the world. On an 8 hour rail journey the world's slowest express train takes you across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2’033 metres in altitude. Travel in comfort through the unspoilt natu- ral beauty of a landscape rich in ancient, fragrant mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows, rushing mountain streams and mountain valleys, soaked in tradition and centuries-old culture.

Overnight in Zermatt.

Day-8:

Board the cogwheel railway up to the Gornergrat, with views of the majestic Mat- terhorn, Monte Rosa and other spectacular summits.
