Day 1: Arrival in Lugano
Arrive in Switzerland; onward rail transfer to Lugano. This charming city lies in the bay of a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. The town piazzas, and blooming flowers in the lakeside Belvedere Gardens invite you to relax and unwind. Overnight in Lugano.

Day 2: Explore Lugano
Lugano, the largest town in the holiday region of Ticino, is a town of parks and flowers, villas and sacred buildings. Why not take the boat across the lake to the picturesque fishing vil­lage of Gandria and have lunch at one of the beautiful rustic grottos Explore the winding, cobbled streets before returning by boat to Lu­gano (extra costs apply). Day 3: Gotthard Panorama Express
Travel along the old Gotthard Route from the Mediterranean south to the traditional heart of Switzerland, finishing with a lake cruise across Lake Lucerne. From Lugano by train via Bellinzona and on through the 15 km long “old” Gotthard tunnel and then down to Flüelen. End your journey with a leisurely cruise on board one of Lake Lucerne’s vintage paddle steamers for a panoramic 2½ h cruise. Take in the amazing scenery all around you, from the imposing mountain peaks to the for­est covered shores, all reflected in the crystal clear water. Overnight in Luzern.

Day 4: Explore Luzern
Luzern, the gateway to central Switzerland, is embedded within an impressive mountain­ous panorama. Thanks to its beautiful lakeside setting and the nearby mountains excursion of Rigi, Pilatus and Stanserhorn, the town is a popular destination for many individuals. Overnight in Luzern.

Day 5: Departure from Luzern
Before you depart from Luzern, be sure to take a final walk around its attractions in­cluding its fully restored Chapel Bridge, its souvenirs and watch shops. Departure by rail transfer to airport or Swiss/Italian border.
